MISSION & VISION
We are committed to the COMPLETE DEVELOPMENT of each and every player in our club program. At Blast, we want to push our players outside their comfort zone. We want to challenge their skill level and lacrosse IQ knowledge by developing them both technically and tactically. In order to push each athlete to the next level, we encourage an environment where risk taking is rewarded and confidence can grow.
COMPLETE DEVELOPMENT
ADVANCED TECHNICAL & TACTICAL INSTRUCTION
The game of lacrosse is a highly skilled sport. The players who proper skill and technique develop much quicker overall; therefore skill instruction is one of our main focuses in our program. We teach the most advanced skills to even our youngest players.
Women's lacrosse is always changing; strategies, tactics, drills, terminology and even the rules! By the time our players graduate high school, their game knowledge has been thoroughly developed and they are ready for the next level of lacrosse.
SPEED & AGILITY
Lacrosse is a series of stops and starts. The best players slow down in a controlled fashion before making a cut and sprinting back to top speed. Additionally, having linear speed is a game changer and something very important to overall performance is having the ability to change direction at a quicker rate.
Speed & Agility is a motor task, and because of this, it is important to learn correct mechanics and proper running/agility forms from a professional. We incorporate speed and agility drills in the program's curriculum and practice plans. We aslo develop and conduct the curriculum for all speed & agility specific training sessions held before and after summer practices.
RECRUITING & COLLEGE CONNECTIONS
We believe that there is a school and a sports program out there for everyone: you just need to be willing to put in the effort to find the right match! Players who are dedicated, focused on consistently improving and learning the advanced game can play in college (D1, D2, D3 or NAIA). We are committing to helping our club members navigate through the recruiting process and find the right fit for the next stage of their lacrosse career. Gail Wallach, a current head DII college coach, has more than 15 years of college recruiting experience, knows the current recruiting trends and rule changes, and has an enormous amount of connections in the collegiate coaches network. Through the relationships and connections our club and our coaches maintain, we are confident that we can help each of our athletes find the right fit!
VISION FOR THE FUTURE
Lacrosse is growing in the south but we are still behind. To help grow, Blast is dedicated to advanced stick work, an aggressive style of play and groups of talented athletes playing TOGETHER. We want to bring the most talented and competitive athletes together, help them develop the game's most advanced stick work and compete against clubs outside of our region. Our vision for Alabama Blast extends far into the future and we are excited by the level of commitment and support we've received from players, parents, and current college coaches.
